China: The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China stretches for over four thousand miles through China. The wall was built firstly as several shorter defensive walls, which were joined together when different states of China became unified in 221BC. The earliest construction took place 700 years BC, with the final work completing the wall in the 14th Century AD.
